Argentine legislation has norms (not structured in a single normative corpus) which allow for the provision of protection to witnesses, reporting persons and persons charged with acts of corruption. While the national programme for the protection of witnesses and accused persons (Law 25,764) contains a restrictive list of criminal offences in respect of which protection may be granted and it does not explicitly include corruption offences, article 1 (2) offers de facto protection in cases that are not expressly provided for by the law.
