Witness protection measures are foreseen in both the Criminal Procedure Code and Law No. 105/2008 on the protection of witnesses and other participants in criminal procedures. The reviewing experts suggested the inclusion of all corruption offences in the category of at least “serious crimes” (section 16, paragraph 4, of the Criminal Code), with a view to making the provisions of Law No. 105/2008 applicable to them as well.
