The provisions of the Bulgarian legislation incriminating corruption-related conduct have been amended in the past on several occasions to ensure compliance with international anti-corruption standards. In this connection, the substantive criminalization provisions of the Bulgarian legal framework comply, to a large extent, with the requirements set forth in the UNCAC. The majority of the UNCAC-based offences are established in the Criminal Code.
