The authorities of the United Arab Emirates confirmed the lack of domestic legislation on the protection of witnesses and victims, insofar as they are witnesses, and reported that the adoption of such legislation is under consideration. Similar consideration will be given with regard to new legislation on the protection of reporting persons.
